THE LOCATION
Your home at an off-grid regenerative farm and intentional community in northern Costa Rica.
Protopia is a living sanctuary where people and nature meet simply and honestly. The land holds thriving ecosystems, fresh water, and open spaces to slow down, reconnect, and breathe—guided by authenticity, spirituality, and a deep respect for the earth.
Life here follows the rhythm of the land. We farm organically, build naturally, and work with biodynamic, syntropic, and permaculture practices. Solar power sustains us, and gravity-fed springs and rivers provide clean water.
Forests, springs, and two rivers cross the property, with small waterfalls just a short walk away. Nearby towns—La Cabanga, San Rafael de Guatuso, and Nuevo Arenal—offer markets, clinics, and everyday essentials.
Protopia is cared for by local farmers, long-term stewards, and residents from around the world. Together, they create a simple, grounded home in nature—one where transformation feels real and everyone is welcome.
Protopia is a partner location of Nomad Farm, where we hosted a month-long Soilmates Immersion in April 2026. Beyond our scheduled group immersions, Protopia is also part of our Eco-Living network, open for year-round flexible stays, welcoming remote workers and travelers who want to experience community living while continuing their own routines.

“I went to Nomad Farm because I was overwhelmed in the city. I craved a change of scenery, routine, and the people around me. My expectations were to rest and connect with nature, but I gained much more. I made friends, connected with myself deeply, and learned about living in a sustainable community.”
